Frequently Asked Questions
How do I donate specifically to the support funds?
You can click here and make a one time or a monthly donation and specify that you want your donation to be used for the support funds.
Why are there different funds instead of just one?
The funds were created at different times, the Hermandad Trans Fund (Trans siblinghood fund) was created first during the beginning of COVID-19 to support undocumented Trans people who do not qualify or receive financial support from stimulus checks due to their immigration status. The Brayla Stone fund was created after Brayla’s murder, with donation money that we received specifically in honor of Brayla Stone and with the intent to support Black Trans women and Girls.
The funds remain separate in order to ensure that our work is centering the most marginalized among us. The majority of our clients are Black Trans women and non-Black Latinx women.
Where does the money for the funds come from?
The funds run on donations, the more money we receive in donations the more we can give out to Trans people. We are incredibly grateful to the individuals, artists, and businesses who conduct fundraisers for Intransitive throughout the year. This is why we say in a country so abundant in wealth, there is no reason any of us should be unhoused and unfed, we just need to redistribute the wealth.
